Day by Day Itinerary

Transfer airport – hotel (1h).

Overnight: Quito

08:30 Departure from your hotel to visit the Historical Center declared humanity’s Cultural Heritage being America’s largest and best preserved, walk through the Basilica, Main Plaza, Government Palace, Society of Jesus $ 5, the church and convent of San Francisco, followed by Panecillo Viewpoint. Next departure to the Middle of the World and visit the Monument to the Ecuador Line, Latitude 0,0,0, $ 5, time for lunch, we will also visit the Museum site “Intiñan” $ 4. In the afternoon return to Quito and visit to the Teleferico $9, those who decide to climb will reach the top of Cruz Loma where they will observe Quito and its surroundings from 4,050 meters above sea level, at the end a brief visit to the craft market for purchases and return.

08:00 Departure following the Panamericana Sur, from Quito to Riobamba, on the way we will appreciate some volcanoes and snowy mountains such as Antisana, Cotopaxi, Ilinizas, Tungurahua and Chimborazo, we will also make a stop at an indigenous market depending on the day, such as Latacunga (Tuesday) or Saquisilí (Thursday). Then, we will visit a Rose Farm, to see its processes of cultivation, harvest and export packaging. Once in Riobamba, we will make a brief panoramic visit to the Parque Neptuno and the Loma de Quito viewpoint.

08:00 We will start from Riobamba southwards to Alausí, where we’ll board the train with a daily departure time of 11:00, there we’ll enjoy an adventure while going through the exciting “Devil’s Nose” Train, (train ticket included), then we will continue until the archaeological ruins Cañaris-Incas of Ingapirca (if time allows it), finally arrival to Cuenca.

08:30 Morning tour of the city of Cuenca, declared a World Heritage Site for its rich architectural and landscapes that give the 4 rivers that cross it, visit the “Museum of Aboriginal Cultures and Ethnography”. In the afternoon, the vehicle will be available for visits of interest in the surroundings such as hats factory and visit the nearby towns of GUALACEO with its Orchid farm $ 4 and jewelry stores in CHORDELEG, return.

At the time indicated, transfer to airport for flight to Quito (price includes airfare), flight takes 40 minutes and is considered a scenic tour, as some of Ecuadorians snowy mountains be appreciated. Then from the airport we’ll start the trip to Otavalo to visit the craft market called “Plaza de Ponchos” , also we’ll visit Cotacachi and its leather goods stores, admiring the Andean landscapes including Lake San Pablo and volcano Imbabura, return to Quito.
